Location and History
A clean, green home in the woods!
We are located half-way around the Lambert's Cove Rd. loop, on the north shore of West Tisbury, a kilometer (0.6 miles) from calm, family-friendly Lambert's Cove Beach and 3.5 miles from the Vineyard Haven ferry (see map in banner above). The house is nestled in beech oak woods with a babbling brook on our land. A short stroll away is Duarte Pond, part of a chain of historic cranberry bogs now maintained by The Nature Concervancy's Hoft Farm. An extensive network of trails were recently added via easements.
The home was built in 1978 and the bump-out into the woods added in 1985. We bought it in 2003. We had to totally replaced the interior in 2016 and took the opportunity to update and improve as much as we could: a new master bedroom bath, all new furniture, mattresses, and fixtures, new & efficient central AC and air heat, new cabinets, granite counters, maple floors, all LED lighting, air sealed and extensively insulated. We buy renewably generated electricity, and have had a high-efficiency gas boiler since 2008.

How to Rent our Home
Renting our home is easy. Call, text or email with any questions or to check availability of your desired week. I'll send a lease agreement, which you sign and return with a first payment of half the rent. I'll copy, sign, and return the lease. We'll discuss ferry tickets, whether we have reservations to sell you or if you need to make bookings to match your rental. Your week now booked, you can relax and ask any further questions along the way, until making final payment 30 days before your arrival. Final payment is the rental balance plus $400 security, which we use to pay for cleaning (typically $180-$220). We'll send directions and lots of useful info about the island, hikes, favorite beaches and eateries, etc. Again, as before, questions are always welcome; guidance always happily provided. Welcome!
